5 week Aerial Fabric Basics single foot lock w/split fabric progression w/Larrisa Cassella 

Tuesday, November 12 - December 10

You were born with wings! This aerial fabric basics intensive is designed to build from the ground up. We will get you upside down and flying while building strength and flexibility. In this class you will learn the fundamentals of single foot lock w/ split fabric progression. As the student progresses throughout the 5 weeks she/he will learn simple poses and tricks, eventually putting these building blocks together into a beautiful and fluid movement of expression.

In each 5 week session we will be focusing on specific concentrations to guide you through your journey in aerial fabric. All students must be able to complete each of our required concentrations to be able to attend our aerial fabric level 1 class.

Aerial Fabric Basic Concentrations:

1. Single foot lock w/ double fabric progression and French climb

2. Single foot lock w/ split fabric progression

3. Hip key progression and Russian climb

4. Double foot lock w/ split fabric and cross-back straddle

5. Inversions, front & back balances and climbs

NO prior experience necessary, ALL students welcome!

NOTE:  Intensives are a commitment style class and there will be no refunds or credits for missing a class.  

Tricks and Technique Review Intensive

In this intensive the instructor will be reviewing selected sequences that we have been covering in class for the last year.

**Must have instructors approval to attend. This is a commitment based class.
This class is designed for all students that have successfully completed all the basic concentrations in the aerial fabric basics classes (knot progressions, single foot lock, double foot locks, traditional climb, Russian climb, hip key, cross back straddle, straddles off knot and must be able to remain in the air for at least 5 minutes). Once you have laid out the groundwork to progress safely with your love for aerials, you are ready for this Aerial Fabric class. This class will focus on technique to understanding the fundamental movements and alignment to completing new tricks. A "trick" typically refers to any movement that isn't a basic climb, mount, or lock. They are what makes up the choreography of performance and can range from very simple movements to complex drops, spins, and falls. With the focus of practice makes perfect we will build up strength, flexibility, mindset and drill the trick or maneuver until we can all safely and successfully complete it with smooth and fluid movements.

is an entrepreneur, men’s work and consent workshop leader, and hopeful romantic (When not strumming his guitar and singing soulful tunes. )
Born in Arizona, raised in Southern California, he is the cofounder of Wild SF Walking Tours, a company that employs artists and activists to tell the radical history of San Francisco’s diverse communities and social movements.

MAZIN JAMAL
is a community organizer, leadership trainer and coach for creatives and executives in the hours between banging out beats, plucking his harps or channeling his ancestors’ melodies.
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Dubai and Sudan, his family’s place of origin, this multi-instrumentalist producer and composer is the director of Holistic Underground, providing personal and professional development services for artists, activists and healers.

This is a class designed for the Holiday Bazaar performance series. Come dance and play to Jingle Bell Rock and express your holiday spirit! In this 3-week dance series, you will learn a choreographed piece melding yoga and hip hop to the music.This piece will be performed at the studio's annual Holiday Bazaar December 14th, 2019. This series is for all levels, no experience necessary. The only requirement is your love to move your body and create art!

This is a commitment based class. 

Saturday November 23

In this two-hour workshop learn and practice Yoga poses, breathing exercises and comfort measures to prepare your body for labor, birth and postpartum.

The first portion of the workshop will be a Prenatal Yoga class designed to help strengthen, relax and prepare your body, mind and spirit. Prenatal Yoga takes you deep into meditation with yourself, your pregnancy and your little love.

The second half of the workshop is for parents to practice massage techniques and comfort measures with a certified Birth Doula. These practices can be used during pregnancy, labor and birth. You will learn tips and tricks to ease aches and pains from pregnancy and learn general education about birth. There will be special processes and guided meditation for becoming a parent and a family.

Whether your birth support is your partner, a family member, a friend or doula, this workshop will leave you feeling empowered and educated about pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

Please have a light meal a few hours before class, wear comfortable clothing to move in and bring a journal for taking notes.

Sunday November 24

This workshop will focus on the art of keeping and growing houseplants. Houseplants have a multitude of benefits from design, psychology and medicinal. In this informational and hands on workshop we will unpack the uses and the common mistakes of houseplant care as well as the benefits. This workshop will be about an hour and a half. The first section will be
informational with a presentation about best practice instructions. Including planting, propagation, fertilizing, watering, sunlight, temperature and areas in which to keep plants. The participants will also have a healthy amount of time to ask questions. The second part of this workshop the participants will plant their chosen plant. Prior to the workshop the participant will be contacted with a choice of 3 plants. They will choose one and we will supply it for them. We
will also supply a plant that they will propagate in class and take home in a glass jar. That way in about a month they will have another plant to plant, furthing their new houseplant practice.
